I have a hard time  tying a polo mar knot directly to a spinner bait specially with fluorocarbon it frays a lot and I have to rety the knot over a couple of times, and I don't like using snaps with my spinnerbaits.whats the best knot when tying directly to a spinnerbait? 

Ive used palomar knot with mono no issues. I refuse to believe I need fluorocarbon for anything as far as catching fish. 

Try a San Diego jam knot, I use it with fluorocarbon all the time.  No problems at all.

The improved cinch knot works fine.  So does the cinch knot, but not many believe it.  You need to do three things with these knots and they will work fine with FC or mono.  First, when you are drawing them down be sure they are well lubed with spit.  Second as you draw them down, help the process with nudges of a thumbnail which forces the line into the right position, while pulling the tag end to tighten the knot.  Finally, while the knot is still wet, pull the main line very hard to "set" the knot.  These are easy knots to tie and will work fine for any terminal use.  They are not reliable for braid, nanofil, or similar lines.

I think I'm going to start using the San Diego jam seems like an easy enuf knot to learn I was also looking at the shark knot. Thanks for your replys.

Palomar with mono, fluorocarbon, or braid

If ya having problems with a Palomar knot it cause you are letting your line cross over each other on the initial loop.

Your line will cut it's self every time

Uni or fishen fool work just fine

The Trilene knot is a dependable knot with both nylon and fluoro monofilament lines.

Improved clinch or uni is all I use for mono/fluoro. 

Practice with the polomar a little more, there's no reason it should be fraying or binding. Make sure you wet your knot before you sinch it down, and make sure when you tie it to keep the double lines running parallel so they aren't twisted together.

I been tying a polomar forever it's been the only knot I use? But I did just recently change my lines from a copolymer to fluorocarbon and thats when the problem started I agree with you on my tying I may have to start slowing it down and making sure the knot is correctly tied I may not even have to change knots however I am still going to tie a sandiego jam try it out.

I hear ya, fluoro has a tendency to dig into itself more so to combat that, try working the knot down some by hand before you try tightening it up, and again wet it well and pull it tight smooth and slow. If that still doesn't work for you, then I guess you'll have to find a new knot. There really isn't a right knot, just one that works for you!

I prefer a uni knot or improved cinch for any fluero to bait connections. I use Palomar for braid and mono but haven't had alot of luck with it on fluero lines.

I use the Palomar knot for everything including fluoro to bait connection and I have never had that issue.

We used to call the San Diego jam knot the"spinnerbaits" knot because it was so fast to tie and reliable. You put the tag end through the spinnerbaits arm tie, pinch the main line and tag end together about 4" above, then use the lure for weight and swing it around the loop and tag end about 6 times, run the tang end through the upper loop, wet the line and snug the knot tight...take about 5 seconds. Excellent knot for FC or mono line.
