My 5 year old son doesn't need Pokemon Go to get exercise... He's a real man, and goes bass fishing to get exercise:P

Early yesterday morning while out fishing, I saw a woman walking her dog, cell phone in front of her in an apparent attempt to capture some Pokemon.  I didn't see if she pointed towards the water to try to catch any sea monsters...

I swear every one of my friends, and coworkers under 50 has that app, I refuse to download it.

This world is gone past dumb. Wonder how many have been hit by cars or some crap watching the phone while walking. Just stupid.

If I see somebody trolling by with there face in their phone hunting down a Pokey, I'll chuck a 1oz punch weight at their phone... Unless they are using the DEEPER or WIFISH...

Different strokes for different folks but I have enough mindless junk to waste my time.  Don't need one more.

I thought about this, this morning. We've got cops getting killed, civilians getting killed, and act of terror happening at home and abroad, and people are worried about catching imaginary creatures

nearly as bad as taking the time to type out a well-thought out complaint about it on a fishing forum....Pokewhatever seems silly to me, but I'm trying real hard not to judge....jeepers...I was dumb enough to spend 7 hours in a kayak yesterday catching three whole fish in borderline dangerous heat/humidity conditions --- I'm the LAST person that needs to be criticizing what someone else might consider a worthwhile pastime

You forgot it's likely the most powerful position in the world is about to be given to a woman who over 60% of her own country consider to be a untrustworthy person.

The fact that 2% of the country is making radical changes because they disagree with the sex they were born with. Or can't comprehend that males need to stay out of the females bathrooms.

Quite amazing how this extremely small % has managed to become so influential as to the way the other 98% of the country should live.

For the record I'm not judging it's just a observation.

The first day it was out I almost ran over 2 teens crossing in the middle of the street. Neither one was looking at the traffic, just at their phones. Its gonna be bad news for people not smart enough to look where they are going.

Y'know, to others it may look crazy that we've spent thousands of dollars and thrown away thousands of hours of good sleep away to chase fish we aren't even going to keep.

Just sayin.  I know nothing about Pokemon and it certainly looks ridiculous but I know I'm the last to talk when it comes to doing things that others think is crazy haha

To each his own. I'm sure people think I'm an idiot for sitting in a tree stand in below freezing temps for hours on end to see nothing but squirrels.

Just another example of "if I don't do it, it must be stupid"

While I agree with you, current event discussions shouldn't be about who caught a Pikachu. I think too many people have a "Well, it doesn't affect me" attitude....Well, it does. The things happening in our country and around the world will have an affect on each and every one of us. If not immediate, it will have some effect sooner or later.

At 5:45 this morning as I was walking past homeless people between the parking garage and my office thinking that I had just seen the news. Another violent weekend here in Chicago with 65 people being shot, 7 fatally. I walk past 2 adults talking about capturing dragons.....Just seems our priorities are a little messed up.

Catching dragons, lunkers, whatever.  I could care less.  If other peoples' pikachews (or any behavior for that matter) have you hot and bothered it's likely time for a change of scenery.  I've never even seen anybody doing it personally.

The designer of the game used to go out in woods near his house as a kid to catch bugs and critters, but realized as he got older, many city kids couldn't have the same experience because there were no close-by rural areas for them to scavenge.  The game is designed to supplement that, to give kids, especially boys, a similar experience to what many of us did most days after school.

In the same way I don't play fishing games in place of actually going fishing, I believe the real thing is better.  That said, I can see how Pokemon-Go appeals to many and the benefits it has over traditional video games.

I was just wondering after reading all this about this game  if the majority of these people are also the ones that won't get a job unless its $20 bucks an hour or are the first on their phone to complain about how the world is or what to do as their nose is in an IPhone believing everything on facebook!?

Gosh....sorry...will go back to wishing I was on the lake.  But honey do's around the house and waiting for my boat to be fixed will take priority right now.
