I'd like to go on a trip sometime in Feb, that's about when I get the worst of the cabin fever. I was planning on heading to Lake Fork since I could knock out another trip to Texas, but I've heard that it's really awful in Feb. Anywhere y'all would recommend in Feb?

I know this guy is planning to leave the Midwest and go back to Lake Toho for a couple of days.  By the end of next week, I'll be able to tell you how Lake Fork is in late September.  

Didn't you, a short while ago, say that you were in between jobs and wanted advice about paying credit cards?  Just sayin'....

Just got a job, and been working part time as a contractor. My parents want to go to texas, that's the "other trip," so my way would be paid.

Pre-spawn starts in February all across the state Texas!

I caught my PB in February in shallow water, she had moved up to feed

February through May is the entire spawn in Texas

Then I would say you need to be looking at Texas!  Lake Fork in February is not a bad choice.  Since you can go for free, you can use your money to pay for a guide to put you on some Lake Fork lunkers.

You will notice the wind on any large lake more than you will on a small one, but if you can fish Toledo Bend in February during the spawn there are a number of people who would say that is heaven right there!

Well, more power to you then!  February is a good time to get away.

Yeah its windy down here in february but thats just part of the game. Feb through april is probably the best time to fish for me

Yeah, I'm surprised that spellcheck did not catch that. I just took the GRE and realized how much I rely on spellcheck. 

Don't you have some power plant lakes in that area? We get lots of out of state guys trying to fight off cabin fever that come to the power plant lakes around here. I see a lot of Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois tags anytime I make a rare weekend trip.
