Best drop shot rod and reel for $200 or less

Featured Replies

Hey, looking for someone to tell me what the best drop shot (spinning) setup is for $200 or less

Pflueger President reel (@ $70 I think) and a 7 ft ML H2O Express Ethos rod from Academy Sports for @ $100. Good drop shot and shakyhead rig, also a good walleye set up.

Ethos are nice.  They are only $60 though, and ship free.

They range in price from $50-100 depending on types of guides and butts. Base is $50-70 and uppers are $80-100. Sometimes they're on sale and sometimes the PT workers mismark them too. Lol

I use a 7' 3" ML/F Ethos micro. There's nicer rods out there for a little more for sure, but for the $60 I spent on it, and considering how rarely I DS fish, it's been great.
