I don't know if you've seen the AOY championship ending, but he is a great guy and that's why he's my favorite angler on the Elites. What are your thoughts on him?

Met him in an aisle way at BPS in Broken Arrow, OK right after the 2015 Classic.    We spent a good amount of time just B.S. ing about fishing and his performance at the Classic.   He was nice, funny and very down to earth, hard to not like a person with those type of traits.    I am happy for him.

 

He works hard and I feel he really earned another AOY, even if it took some tough luck from Hackney to let that door swing open for him. I think he exemplifies a lot of the characteristics you'd like to see in a pro in a lot of sports. 

ghoti and I had  dinner with GMan, Mike Iaconelli and their wives several years ago in Nashville. GMan had us rolling. Funny man and GREAT guy!

 

I don't follow professional fishing of any sort.  I can name maybe a dozen pro anglers...mostly from Bassmaster mag articles.  But, I have watched many videos of Swindle - both to learn and to be entertained... and have a great deal of respect for him.  Seems like a great guy and I'm happy for him.

One of the anglers I would most like to meet, I've met a few, one of the most respected I've met was Paul Elias, another down to earth angler and all around great guy.

Swindle deserved this honor for his efforts this year, it's been a long wait to see him on top again, congrats big guy !!!!

I was at the weigh in for the AOY at Mille Lacs on the 2nd day and all of these anglers seem so laid back and friendly.  I think its great that they interact with the crowd and offer their opinions on the fishery, how their day went, etc.  Swindle was such a wreck most of the tournament and when he finally had a good final day to ensure he would win, you could see the weight lifted off his shoulders...and then he really got emotional on stage.

He's an absolute LEGEND! By far my favorite Angler to ever fish. He's a down to earth guy with a passion for fishing. There is no way someone could dislike him.

I agree!  who could be prouder than his momma! His beautiful wife too great people work hard and more times than not wonderfulness is bestowed upon them way to go g-man!!!!! May the sunny side of life always shine upon you bro! Junebugman
