Reservoir fishing

Featured Replies

I know many here fish reservoirs and Im curious about dam generation times and how it affects how you fish. Do you keep track of the schedules and if so how does it change the way you fish during that time? How might it affect the fish?

I always check when I fish the river below the dam but when I'm on the lake I've never gave it much thought since it isn't as noticeable.

No I don't track schedules

It does position bass on the shallow side of structure.

Reseveroirs are impounded for various reseasons, water strorage, flood control and or power generation. Most  West coast reservoir the  primary function is water storage and flood control, power generation being a by product. Where I fish not applicable would apply because our local lakes are water storage/flood control.

Current trumps everything on the Tennessee River reservoirs.
