Good lures for Grass and Sand lakes

Featured Replies

I fish in a private lake in Southern Jersey. It is weird because it has grass up to the surface, very light grass and a sand bottom. It is also usually windy and a small lake. What lures should I throw?

swimjig, swimbaits, frogs, soft jerkbaits, flukes, worms jigs.

I love fishing sand.. neko rig senko, shaky head , and any craw imitator such as jig or Texas rig craw.

I like to use soft plastic swimbaits, texas rigs, shakey heads, jigs, mojo rig,and spinnerbaits in the condition of the lake you described.

I tried to chatterbait a lot and it was not good for me.  The swimjig on the other hand was magic.  I must be doing something wrong???

Clear water: topwaters, swimbaits, swimjig, 1/4oz Texas rigged Ocho.

stained water: chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, 1/4oz creature, buzzbaits. I live in the Philly area, so I'm MORE THAN HAPPY to help you figure it out!
