New to Bass Fishing and Forum, North Texas

Featured Replies

Hi and Happy New Year!

Sea angler back in the day as a kid in the Irish Sea. Brit living in North Texas, live a minute walk to a great bank on Lake Lewisville.  Neighbours fish and thought hey want to get back into the sport! Learning every day.  Bass Fishing so different from Sea Fishing in the Irish SEA Discovered that so many incredible people on FB pages and on forum, willing to share advise and knowledge and indeed a great sense of humor!

At the moment, only familiar with Texas Rig and plastic worm, just trying to get efficient, caught a few bass and catfish.  Any suggestions for next technique I should become familiar with.  I only bank fish, no access to boat etc, loving bank fishing and teaching myself :-) and of course watching some incredible sunsets after work!

Thanks

Katie

Hello Katie and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

As for another technique, a Spinnerbait is a big fan favorite.

Welcome aboard, Kate!

Was in a fishing break of life when I lived in TX. Grad'd

UNT back in '92. Never fished Lewisville, Grapevine, or
the other big lakes down there, sadly.

For your next fishing trick, enjoy the wacky rig and drop
shot rigs. If you can get out on a dock, or near downed

trees, etc., these rigs are killer. :)

Kate - Welcome to Bass Resource. Enjoy reading & contributing in the forums.  If you can, stop at your local tackle shop.  They'll be the most knowledgeable for what works in your area.  Good luck.

Greetings Katie and Welcome to the forums :)

Seriously, thanks so much to everyone for their kind words and advise! I do not know what it is about anglers, but absolute class and passion.  Hey

Darren, Go Mean Green :-)  Love a coffee and rambling through the stores in Denton.  Going to try and get more accomplished and would love to fish of the banks at Ray Roberts!   I live in OAK POINT on Lake Lewisville..a Brit who loves Texas :-)

AJ definitely going to research Spinnerbait, I am sure there will be a lot of tears and curse words along the way ! :-)

Kate - remember that they're not curse words, they're sentence enhancers.

welcome, good luck, tight lines, keep reading and learning. usually locals know best. and are willing to help
