Deep cycle or cranking?  I had 2 Walmart group 29 deep cycle branded Everstart Maxx and they were awesome!.

Walmart's Maxx line is higher quality than their standard lineup.  I would not hesitate to buy them again.

Walmart Everstart batteries are made by Johnson Controls, the same company that makes Diehard, Interstate, and Duralast.  The Everstart batteries are very highly rated by Consumer reports, second only to Interstate if I remember right.\

I put one in my truck 2 years ago after becoming irritated at having to buy another Autocraft from Advance Auto.  The best value out there seemed to be the Everstart so I went with it.  Going strong so far, turns over my 5.4L like an outboard.

The advantage of Everstart marine deep cycle battery is they can e replaced at any Walmart within a year at no cost. The disadvantage is you are shopping at Walmart.

I have 3 Walmart Everstarts in my boat now, 1 in my lawn mower. I will be getting more when I need them.  Had 1 that was 10 years old when it went bad.

I run the Everstart Maxx marines in my boat... have for many years- they are good batteries. As good as any other brand of marine batteries I have used in the last 20 years.  Oh, the Maxx Marine line has a 2 year free replacement.

I bought both a new cranking and trolling battery last year from O'Riley's Auto Parts. It was their house brand batteries. When my boat is parked I keep it plugged in at all times so my charger/tender keeps them fresh. They have been excellent batteries and I expect to get many more years out of them.

My favorite battery for years was the Optima Blue Top, but their quality has since gone down the tubes.

I’ve also had good luck with the Odyssey Diehard Platinum, but that battery has been discontinued,

and today Sears is in a life and death struggle.

The battery industry has undergone as many mergers and hostile takeovers as the banking industry,

and I can’t keep up with it anymore. Today there are just a few parent companies left

like Johnson Controls, East Penn and Northstar.  In today’s volatile battery market

it’s probably a good idea to stick with a household name with a robust warranty.

Walmart's 'EverStart Maxx' offers a 2-year warranty, and when it’s time to replace my batteries

I’ll probably go that route.

About 6 months into 2 Everstart Maxx 29 batteries now. They seem to be holding up well as a replacement for the Deka Master Marine batteries that came with my boat. Those were great batteries and would have gone that route again but 40$ per battery coast difference and needing them ASAP, went with the Everstart Maxx.
