I finally did it!!

Featured Replies

Got a personal best that I won't beat easily. After throwing everything but the kitchen sink, I went to a Senko and got this hog. Healthy 6.9 bass. Still can't believe it.

Great fish. Congrats. You'll catch bigger for a new PB later.

I'm sure I will but it won't be as easy to beat as my last 2.7 lb pb

PBs are weird that way.  Its surprising how long its taken me to come off this 5.2lb PB that im stuck on and have been for over a year.  You would think living in AL I would have caught one over 6 by now.  Im jelly of your catch!!!

Congrats man. I broke my personal best twice in 15 mins -

It was hovering 4.5 Lbs for a good one year,

Then I hit a 5.5 Lbs on 1/2 White Spinnerbait ...15 mins later,

I hit a personal 6.4 Lbs in the same spot with 1/2 oz white chatterbait  :)

Proof -  Its the avatar picture over there..

I took a pic of the scale to just in case. Said 7.3 didn't tare out my lip grip which isn't much. Did the simple math.

I caught a 6.5 (I think because it was weighed with a really cheap spring scale) at my buddy's pond about 14 years ago. I haven't caught a single big bass at that place since. Not one, and I fish it quite a bit. I know it better than the owner as he has told me before. But I started fishing a local reservoir that's known to have big bass. Three years later I finally got one better, but still not 7 lbs. I'll bet I've caught 15 fish over 5 there and several over six before finally getting a new PB. I did have one certain PB straighten out a light wire hook though.

Mike

I was waiting for this day for a while now. Never caught anything over 2 lbs. And I knew this lake was full of hogs. Wish she had more fight in her but maybe next time I hook one I'll have a fighter on my hands.

OH I do, I know this privet lake hold some hogs. And after a few more casts I sad eh that's enough for one day. I want a fight so I plan on going back when the fish get a little more active and I can catch em on somthing other than a Senko

Nice work!  Tight lines!!

Need to update your PB in your profile now, to match the avatar. :cool-3854:

That's right I forgot about that. First thing I did after I got into the truck was update my profile pic
