Scrounger Jigs?

Featured Replies

I have seen these Jigs on TW and have never noticed any conversation regarding their use. Are they not used by the predominance of fisherman, or just grouped with swim jigs in general. They seem new to me, but many things are. They seem to be almost a spin-off of a spinner bait.

Should I try a few, or are all the old timers hoarding them!

Please resolve my ignorance!

Will do, sorry for duplicating topics!

They work. I haven't had the best luck with the bigger scrounger heads, but the 3/16 and 1/4 oz have worked well for me using small swimbaits.

When you get one, pick up a pack of Sluggo's and use as your trailer.

I think you may be pleased.

Thank you, I already have Sluggos in several sizes and colors.

I look forward to it!

Tom, someone can say this on just about every thread lol

At least it wasn't favorite color senko, and be ready for the incoming whopper plopper threads this summer

Don't forget knot used for leader to braid.  Tried getting it pinned so it wouldn't move but it didn't happen

OP check out Tennessee River Tremor  Head with the Sluggos(tall).

I was really into using Scrounger heads for a while with a Reaction Innovations skinny dipper or little dipper.  I caught fish on them, but now that you mention it, I realize I haven't thrown one in about two years - they are still in my tackle bag, but I just haven't thrown one.  I might have to go back to it this year!

I picked up a pack of scrounger jigs and the plastic lips are  "all " crooked . I wont use the things if they   run sideways .

The 3/8 OZ head with the 'long' bill is a fan favorite.

Fished Low & Slow (Right on or almost on the bottom).

Slow Steady pace retrieve with an occasional stop to re-acquire the bottom has been best for me.

Remarkably snag resistant.

Almost any 4-7 inch slender plastic works.

Some Swimbait / boot tail baits do not track well.

Did I mention fish it   S   L   O   W  ..  ..  ..  . . . ..  . . . . . .

Thank you for the help folks! As BassGirl stated sometimes we just don't use some old tried and True baits because we're always looking for something new. I just ordered some from TW.

I love this place!
