Just watched on Bassmaster the video from Rayburn day 1 on Shaw removing a treble hook from Jason Christie's hand. Just listening to him and watching Shaw push it through made me hold my breath and cringe for him. Stuff like that usually doesn't effect me at all. I think the sound coming from Christie is what did it. He said he cut part of a finger off before and the hook removal hurt worse! Check it out!

A few years ago I had a 14lb pike attached to my wrist with a 5/0 treble. Once the pike was removed from the equation I had to perform a similar operation to Christie. The guy in the boat with me was the theatre technician from a hospital, but got a bit queasy helping out! Had to push the hook point and barb through the gristly part of my wrist to get to the barb to cut it off. It took a ridiculously huge amount of pressure to get it through and I ended up cutting the surface to try to get down to it, much like Shaw. Had to have 5 minutes sitting down swearing after the hook was eventually free!

:annoyed1: Just watched it and I don't think I could of laid there without moving my hand! They would have had to tie my arm down because I probably would of been thrashing around.....OUCH!! I admire people that can take pain like that.

I saw on tv kvd get a crank (10xd I think) yanked out by a boater that was around him. He tied some know around the treble and told the guy to yank her out. It worked great. Knock on wood I haven't had anything more than a small ***** to the finger or hand.

My son got a crank stuck in his hand and I had to perform the same extraction method.  It works great as long as the hook only enters the skin and doesn't exit.

That is true. Once past the barb probably a little dry coming out. One two three pull.

Some bragging rights right there. Hey Kevin remember me? I yanked an xd out of your hand! Except with his mileage on the water his reply would be "which time?"

I had to push one through  by myself . Its amazing how hard it is to get back out when it goes in so easily .

I was just trying to explain to my wife why seeing this makes a man's testicles rise up against his lungs when he sees images like these.

I don't think she understands!

My partner managed to get a size 2 treble through my right cheek on a cast. He had to reach inside my mouth like I was a big bass and cut the barb off, then it slide right out. I'll be honest, it didn't really hurt. I didn't even realize what had happened until I felt the lure bouncing off my face and seen the look of horror on his face.

The Jason Christie story is a perfect example of why its a good idea to have us old people around. He said it himself. You can't trust just anybody with a procedure like that. It takes somebody with experience and knowledge. And who has more of both of those things than the advanced in age. :D
