St. Croix Junk Rods

Featured Replies

I received a Legend Xtreme as a gift and upon further inspection noticed the guides were misaligned and the rod blank curved to the left.  I would expect this kind of quality control on a $30 Walmart special but this is unacceptable on a $440 rod. I called St. Croix and I was told I could send it in but there was absolutely no guarantee they would fix the problem, if they decided it was within their so called "tolerances."  I was willing to give this American company a chance but after this experience I'm staying with Loomis.

I stand with St. Croix, wouldn't call what they make junk rods...

It was a gift, you didn't spend your hard-earned $ to buy it, so

spend the $ with their discounted send-in warranty service and

give 'em a chance with it.

@Delaware Valley Tackle builds rods. He can chime in on the blank

issue.

And welcome aboard!

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

Interesting First Post.

I've had a few dealings with St Croix customer Service and in every instance they were nothing short of fantastic.

Hope your experience ends up feeling the same.

I'd hate to spend $20 to ship the rod off and then have them tell me there isn't a single thing they can do.   I sent one of their reps these photos and they told me they couldn't tell me if there was anything wrong with the rod. I can't  be the only one who sees how crooked the guides and blank are?

Counterfeit?

Nope!  It was a gift,  so based on what I've read, I'm going to need to pay $85 on top of the shipping for the company to make it right.  For $100, I'd rather put it towards another NRX.

Sorry, we are not the proper venue to air complaints about a manufacturer.  Try calling them directly: (800) 826-7042

Otherwise, this matter is closed here. From the Forum Rules & FAQs:

I have a dispute with 'company X'. Can I post about it here?
While we can empathize with your frustration, the best course of action is deal directly with the company. Escalate it up the ladder, file a grievance with PayPal or Ebay (if they were involved with the transaction). File a mail fraud complaint with the post office. There are other options, but attacking the company in a public forum is not appropriate nor allowed. Such posts will be removed.
