I was wondering if some iPhone users would know of a setting on the phone I'm just not seeing?

My son is 12 and has a phone which is on my Apple I.D Account. He's been getting my phone calls, just phone calls, no text messages or emails. I had it set-up so that he didn't get any communication that's directed to me, but I'm wondering if it reset during a recent software update. :dontknow:

Thank you in advance for your help.

I would lookin settings and make sure your phone number is not listed as the number to your sons phone if that makes sense. Otherwise I would get in touch with your carrier to make sure the numbers are correct for each phone. Also see if your phone is not forwarded to your sons phone!

I noticed that my "handoff" setting was on...Never thought of it. I'll have to check his setting as well. Thanks for posting that @pondbassin101. I'll find out tonight when I get home.

@Finesse Wayfarer, I'm with you. I ask both my son and daughter for advice. Why am I so dumb, I have a smart phone! :) I feel like Rodney Dangerfield in Back To School.

Try SETTINGS, PHONE, and make sure call forwarding is OFF.

One more question: If you switched phones, did you swap SIM cards (that is if you're carrier uses SIM cards)?  If your SIM is in the phone he's using, it'll get all your calls.

So I went thru all the settings and no dice. I think I'll just set up his own Apple I.D.

Weird, I had 4 devices on 1 I.D. before and haven't had this problem.

Yes, use different IDs on Family Share plan.

I've had this situation when I swap out iPhones (we have 6 in

my family).

Ended up having to get on the phone with Sprint to resolve,

each time to our satisfaction.

In the switching, there can be issues on the back end that cause

calls or texts to go to one phone over the other. Some of it is

simply timing as the changes make way thru the back end, other

issues are more technical and do involve the SIM cards.

Give your cell company a call and see if they can help.

As well, my ID is used on my sons' devices for the App Store and

iTunes, but for other things, they use their own ID.
