Palomar for everything

I use Alberto for leaders, Palomar for braid and improved clinch for everything else. These are the easiest knots for me and I can tie them quickly in my yak. The most important thing is practice doing any knot well because they are all pretty good.

Double pitzen for line to lure (other than crankbait) because it is my strongest knot and easy to tie.  Loop knot for line to crankbait to allow free range of motion for better action.  Snell knot for line to hook in order to get the hookset benefits.  Slim beauty to connect braid to leader because it goes through the guides easy and is much easier for me to tie than the FG knot (and my lure knot always breaks before my connection knot so it is plenty strong).

For mono I use the trilene knot almost exclusively . Sometimes I'll tie a palomar on a spinnerbait that has a loop line tie . I've had those loops loosen a trilene knot a few times .

I don't tie lines together, so I use a palomar knot for everything except crankbaits.  For crankbaits I use an improved clinch knot.

The only knot I tie is from braid to a snap. I don't retie often. The knot I use is a Uni Knot with 10-12 turns. I have never had it fail on me.

I only use the Alberto knot for leader to braid connections.

 

I use the Palomar for my drop shot hooks.

 

I use the Trilene knot for everything else.

I use a Palomar knot for everything.  You just have to make sure your knot is tied properly or it can come undone with braid.  For tying one line to another an double uni knot is what I use.  It's fairly easy to tie, and I haven't had issues with it coming apart or anything, so I keep using it.  Whether or not that's the "best" knot, I don't know - but it works for me.

Braid to fluorocarbon I use a uni-to-uni knot and have never had an issue with it breaking.

 

Direct to lure I always use the improved clinch knot; it doesn't matter if I'm fishing braid or fluorocarbon. I use Seaguar InvizX and have never had issues where the knot was where the line break happened. As a matter of fact, I've had squarebills get caught up but managed to pull the lures free without the knot breaking.

 

I tend to keep things simple, and it's worked well for me.

Snell Knot - all single hooks no matter the line 

 

Palamor Knot - for lures when using braid or mono

 

Berkeley Braid Knot - for lures when using flouro
