Hey guys, Just like your input on what size line do you use when cranking with braid , I tried 10lb test and line kept snapping I think i need to slow down when casting ..when i didn't  snap line results where good .I like that i can feel everything when cranking with braid, I will try 15lb and see how that works out..

30Lb braid, plenty of strenth and still a very small diameter line. Braid will let your baits run deeper because of line diameter. I suggest 30Lb daiwa j-braidx4

Knowing what type of tackle you have, spinning or casting, the type of rod like medium moderate etc, etc, would help.

Whatever brand you get, get the # test that says the diameter of 10# test.

 

 

Spinning or casting gear?

My youngest son has a Cabela's Whuppin' Stick, 6'6" medium/moderate spinning rod with 15# braid and it seems to work rather well for him. Lately we've been in a rut but for most days, the fish just jump on his lure (usually a KVD 1.5). Because it's a moderate tip with quick bend, braid works or this setup. If the tip was a little stiffer however, I'd suggest mono.

i've been using 50 lb sufix 832 which is the same diameter as 12 lb mono i was using 30 but it casued some backlash problems with my tournament mg that i really didn't want to tinker with to sort out maybe i will in the late season again 

I run 10 pound 832 and 10 pound Gamma with leader.

Both get down quick and stay in the zone as well as Tatsu did.

Zero problems......and yes, I know most use 30 pound

depends on the rod as well as what I am throwing.  For light stuff on my spinning reel I use 15lb braid.  For squarebills, poppers, jerkbaits and med divers I use a casting reel with 20lb.   For deep divers and big  topwater baits I run 30-40lb braid

Thanks guys for the reply, most of my cb rods are m and 1 is mh they are dobyns glass rods after reading your reply I will put 20 on 1, 15 on 1, and I will put 30on 1 .I did notice a huge difference with braid I really like feeling what my cb's are doing on the bottom. The only time I use spinning gear for cb's is when I fish shad raps  ..Living in NH we have some great lakes for cb fishing                                           Semper Fi NH BULL

I love it. Back your drag off a touch and use a moderate action rod and it works nicely. Helps me free grass or leaves that will get snagged on the hooks

Have used 15 lb Power Pro for years......love it.....also use a fluro leader.

i tried it 1 time with an old daiwa tds crankin rod, and a squarebill almost rattled my teeth out!!  i could see using braid with a flat/narrow wobble crank or trap, but anything with a wide wobble is highly amplified.
