I've updated it since then to a Helix 12 MEGA at the console and a Helix 10 DI at the bow.

 

Very cool...I like the Lund Pro-V Bass a lot...and this is a twin to the old CMV 1750...I hope they are on a path to build an 1850.

 

More and more choices if something bad happens to my CMV.

Price tag?

What's been suggested so far is under $30K for the boat, motor (115) and trailer for the 1750m mid-$30s for the 1850.

 

That's doable for a lot of people.

sure hope they test them before putting them on dealers floor. seems like they didn't on the PT 18's. they are making it right for me and others, but they have to be taking a beating on building new 2018's to replace the 2017's, but that Basshawk looks really nice.

If it's like the old CMVs, and if they are using the current Fish Hawk hull as a starting point (like the old CMVs did), there's not a ton of testing to do.

 

The hull design is solid and well tested, and they've got a couple years recent experience putting the deck in the Lund Pro-V Bass.

 

I am curious though - what problems are they having with the PT 18s?  I'll do a Google search, but I'd sure like to hear it from an owners perspective.

porpoising so bad they are undrivable. did everything to try to fix the problem. there are now eight wedges. porpoising much less but still not right. I talked to several owners and their boats are also going back. seems that the transom is built too flat. my boat was at the dealer all spring and early summer, so they are letting me fish the rest of the season then building me a new one. as for fishing, the boat is awesome. huge decks and storage. 33 gal. livewell is nice.

I had a little Tracker V-14 with a Merc 40 2 stroke on it...the only way it didn't porpoise was with the motor trimmed all the down.

I can't tell if the guy in the video is saying 115 or 150 for HP on the 1750 model.  I can't imagine its a 150 on an aluminum boat under 18 feet.  Either way, the true v-hull on a "bass boat" is an interesting concept and the 15 count rod locker is really nice.

I had to listen to it twice - it is indeed a 150.

 

The 1750 is 17', 9" long and 95 " wide...so it's just 3" short of 18 ft.

 

My 2005 CMV 1850 is 18', 3" long and 95" wide...it is also rated for a 150, though I run a Johnzuki DF140 on it.

 

...I was surprised they only got 52 MPH out of the 1750 with a 150 on it...if I take all my "stuff" out of my CMV, I can 46 - 47 MPH, and I can get 42 MPH with a full load in the righ conditions...and I think the Merc 150 is lot stronger motor than the Suzuki DF140*

 

*But I'd rather have the DF140.

Got to remember it's a deep v hull. If it were a pad hull like the Lund you'd see a few more mph out of it. Speaking of Lund, wonder if they'll come out with a 17ft version of the pro v bass.

Right...but the old CMVs like mine were the same deal, I think...a chopped off Fish Hawk hull.

Same here.

Still a really big HP motor for only being a boat that's 17 feet, 9 inches long.  I have a Ranger RT178 and its max HP rating is 75.
