I'm hanging them up. Done for the year the bites dead. I'll be targeting trout for the next couple of months, filling the freezer till it warms up. THE DISHES ARE DONE!

Trout are a fun way to spend the winter. Kind of a change of pace and they fight good on light tackle. 

I'm done too . Been squirrel hunting several times .

December-June is usually when I fish more for largemouth bass.

Water is icing up up here fast. Put the boat away last week. That's it for another 3 months sad to say.

Sadness for those in the land of hard water.....have caught my share of the slime rocket species out west and it was fun....now I'm making up time chasing the bass's and more bass's.

If the weather forecast for December is correct I am done too. Highs in the low 30’s just don’t appeal to me.

Nah, I'm never done. Just caught a nice one on a crank yesterday.

Not done here. 42 degree water and they were smoking lipless cranks today.

We are fortunate to live in the fishing capital of the world where we can fish any day, week, or month we choose to. We can also dive year round if we wanted to since the water is so warm( went diving without a wet suit 2 weeks ago and the water was still warm).

So glad I live in Alabama lmao.

Made it out yesterday..water temps low 50's, squeaked out a few short fish but I think it's time to switch to Crappie.  I got back to the ramp and saw loaded livewells around me. Crappie fishing till March/April for me.

They do love there crappie out here....back home they did some too but when you compare the average size of both destinations....I would take it up out here.  But.....am addicted to these different bass waters and the smallie fishing this time of year.  It is fun though to catch some of those 12 plus incher's once in awhile.

I've been down for about three weeks. Adding insult we are projected to get 2-4" of the powder on Wednesday.

Not sure I would complain a lot about having to catch trout.  Being military I've lived everywhere from Key West to Fairbanks and even Hawaii.  There are advantages and disadvantages to fishing in all those places.  I'm not so dedicated to bass fishing that I wouldn't put a few trout on the plate. Or salmon, halibut, catfish, crappie, Mahi-mahi, or wahoo.  I just like to fish.

Dishes are done here, too.  For soft water, anyway.  We have weather moving in tonight and colder temps tomorrow and until the indefinite future.  

I went yesterday. Caught three 2-pounders and lost one. I feel blessed to live in the south. But if it turns and stays too cold, I'll take up hunting. I just gotta get outside. my buddy has a feral hog "problem" on his farm and hunting properties and I have a brand new AR-15.
