Tracker 2018 Heritage/2019 Classic edition boat

Featured Replies

If the motor didn't set off any tones/horns I would think that you didn't do any damage. They should have a low oil pressure and a temperature alarm that would have gone off if you went out of limits on either oil pressure or temperature.

Sorry that you had problems, was the oil fill cap loose? Any other sign of where the oil was leaking from? With that much oil leaking, it is always tough to see where the leak started from.

Best of luck, on getting it fixed and getting back on the water. Glad to hear that you liked how it performed, all you need now is the oil leak fixed.

  • Hey it floats!  Almost a week and I finally got it out on the water.  I'm following the break-in instructions for the engine, so I couldn't open it up.  I got the first hour out of the way.  I went to

Got my boat today!  Already about to get it opened up to install some gear.  Everything is really accessible and there should be no issues at all.  My dealer gave two tracker shirts to us... Almost ga

I just got mine today!  Two hours total to pick it up.  15 minutes to sign papers the rest for a walk-through of the boat.  At the Portage, IN BPS they told me they have sold 37 so far and if you were to order one today they wait is to August.  It tows nice.  One thing I noticed there are a lot of shavings in the bottom of the boat.  Even some in the carpet.  I may rinse the hull to get the shaving out the plug rather than the bilge.  I can't wait to get it out, we have had some crazy rains lately.  Hopefully next week sometime.

never got any alarm, checked oil fill cap,etc..,and yes too much oil to tell anything.

Love seeing people getting their boats delivered! Now lets's see some modification pictures. Congratulations!

it is a good looking boat for sure!

This is my current bass boat, does anyone recognize this original bass boat built in the 60's? This is why I'm anxious for my heritage to arrive, I want a little more space! I will be in heaven with those casting decks! This boat has helped me catch a lot of fish, but it's not the most comfortable boat to fish out of.

I have a question to those who have taken delivery of their boat. I am going with a 24 volt trolling motor which means a third battery, would there be enough room to put a second 6 gal fuel tank with a third battery in the compartment?

Wild guess here, Skeeter Hawk?

Great guess! Never heard the hawk designation, that's a new one to me. We just know it as the original first fiberglass Skeeter circa 1968. Runs great with a 25 hp on the back, of course anything less than 14' would run great with a 25...

Yes, plenty of room.

Loading the boat with some stuff and looking around.  I would advise everyone to check the top edge of the rear storage box.  Mine had a sharp edge to it.  I ran a file around and it's OK now.  I would hate for anyone to cut an arm open reaching in and out!

Right now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the stern light.  It's pretty tall and I have it in one of the rod holders on the side.  I don't see anywhere else to put it.  The bow light has a nice holder in the forward storage box.  They are both made from a very light weight aluminum.  I'm sure it wouldn't take much to bend them.

I ordered a spare tire.  Anyone mount theirs yet?  I'm trying to decide if I'm going to just bolt it on or try to use a U-bolt.

Thanks for the heads up on storage box edge.

Where did you order the spare from?

Just took boat out for break in,followed instructions to a T.tied back up to dock ,noticed oil slick, pulled boat out and could see oil oozing out.thought it was lower unit then popped top off engine and could see oil around, checked oil was almost out.super bummed.not trying to scare anyone.best day ever turned upside down.boat performed awesome to,halls some serious butt and rides beautifully.just hope they honor warranty and i didnt do to much damage.was looking forward to first day of fishing now i just dont know how to feel.

Thanks for the heads up.  I know I cannot wait to get my boat, but I was afraid that this mad fmeush to fill orders would lead to new quantity over quality situation.  I will check my boat from "rooter to Tooter" we I get it.  I hope you get this resolved promptly.

Not to go off topic but I googled it here if that's the one ...

I think if they were making them at their leisure the edge would still be the same.  At this price point your not going to get rolled or capped edges.  They are going to cut and put it in.  For me it's not a quality issue, it's just the way it is.

Here's a question, I know it's early but what do you guys plan to clean your aluminum with?

I was told 3yr warranty on the motor

Mercury runs a warranty promotion every spring thru boat show season or, I believe the last day of March. Ask for the 2 additional years. Also, unless things have changed, the additional warranty is NOT the Platinum warranty, only the Gold warranty. It does not include labor and does not include any electrical components. Mercury does sell extended warranty's up to 7 years, so you could purchase an additional 2 years after the initial 5 if you wanted to. (You can also upgrade to to the Platinum rather than just buying the Gold) You can buy the extended warranty for as long as the motor is under the original 3 year factory warranty. It will cost the same if you opt in now or in up to 364 days. After that the price increases on an annual basis until the end of year 3.

If you payed for dealer prep, they are supposed to clean the boat prior to delivery, not leave it full of shavings

Here's a trailer question... what connector is installed electric wise? my ol' beater has the 4 pin, am I gonna need an upgrade?

Doubt it. You would need a 5 if the trailer had brakes

It wasn't to bad.  I could stand around and scream how people are not doing their job or i could take the boat home.  I took the boat home :P.

The trailer I saw at BPS had a 7 pin connector, not a flat 4.

yeah-- this is probably something I'm gonna have to find out before they trap me with their prices for a new 7-pin hookup. -hello amazon-
