All I’m going to say is in the spring while the rest of the body of water is cooler the north end warms up first.

Yes it in fact it does!

But the bass on the south end still feed where they live.

I've caught big bass in the coldest water around, in the shade behind high bluffs with tall pine trees blocking sunlight.

All the bass do not swim to the north end ?

The further south  the less difference it should make .When there is  a warming trend of a few days  after the winter ice has melted ,  I dont search out the north side of a lake , I search out steep banks that receive direct sunlight   . That could be on the north , south , east or west side of the lake but the north side of a creek arm . I like to use a crankbait , an Argobast Mudbug cast parallel and crawled agonizingly slow . This is a sunny afternoon bite   a big fish tactic not for numbers .

So the consensus is all the bass in the lake swim to the north end of the lake!

Right ?

Probably not, you right on that.  I think the ones in the warmer water might give your bait a second look, though. ;)

The operative word here is "might"!

The next operative word is "location", are we talking my winters down south or y'all's up north?

My key for winter bass aint water temperature, it's stability!

Give me three days of constant, unchanging, stable, conditions & it's on ?

My next question haze always been which "north" end do I run to?

That's a 65 mile long lake with over 1,200 miles of shoreline!

Pick one ?

The "north end" for me really would be Canada!

Consider this fact, the shortest distance for the sun rays to warm earth is the equator, the further "north" the sun rays travel in the northern hemisphere the cooler they become, the opposite of what this thread is based on!

shallow water warms faster, if the shallow water is at the north end then that where it will warm faster then deeper water, unless current is present.

Wind only has an effect if there is no ice. North shores thaw first, and are most apt to heat first, bc they receive incident sun. Incidence is what heats the planet, and causes the seasons. I photographed the incident bank (N) today bc it was thawing at the edge -a good example. Ice break isn't in our near future.
