Does anyone use copolymer line? I was thinking on putting it on a rod for spinnerbaits, crankbaits and topwaters. Would it work for those techniques? If so, what is your favourite brand? Thanks!

Should work great for those. You can use it basically the same and with the same expectations as you would mono. 

I use it for a lot of things, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, cranks, traps, buzzbaits, jigs, T rigs, almost everything except topwater.

Yep, I use P-Line Fluoroclear. It is a fluorocarbon coated copolymer, floats like mono and has the near invisibility of fluorocarbon. I use it on rods that i throw both bottom contact and topwater baits on. No complaints

Yozuri and cxx are both great lines.  Not topwater lines at all imo.  They seem to be more dense than standard mono and sink to much dragging the lure down.  Otherwise very versatile.

smalljaw67 recommended this line to me a couple years ago.  I bought 3000 yard spools of 8# and 12# for my Medium and MH baitcast reels.  Currently running both on several reels.  I like it.  Never needs a line conditioner to stay pliable.

Cxx is a good line. Strong and abrasion resistant. But it's thick and doesn't handle the best over 12lb. But I use it for leader material. It will work for topwater, I used it for poppers and buzzbaits. 

I have used Yo Zuri hybrid ultra soft in #6 pound test for yrs. on my spinning rods. Love it, no complaints. However it doesn't seem to be available any more. I have enough to last for a long time, but will be trying out McCoy's mean green line this yr. as a replacement.

I haven't used copoly but I am debating trying it on at least one of my spinning reels, the only real concern is I hear fluoro sinks better but only way to know for sure is to try it out yourself.

That is only partly true. If you use a good knot, like a shark knot, flourocarbon has a near 100%knot strength. I am not all that concerned about the sink rate of flouro vs copoly. The main reason I use flourocarbon is the sensitivity on a semi slack line, that you don't get with copoly or braid.

Never had great luck with flouro knots and it always breaks at the knot when I do brake off.  Sometimes that's a good thing.

That's what I hear a lot, but some people also tell me the opposite. I've never had a problem with tying knots on thinner fluorocarbon though to be honest, say 10 or 12lbs and under. It's always the fatter line that's hard to cinch down.

I use Lake Forks Co-Polymer line as leader in several line weights on several different rods.

 

Cant speak to it for any use other than that...but it works great as leaders!

anyone have any experience with P-Line CX premium? Im putting together a big(ger) swimbait setup (as in 2-7oz baits) and sounds like this is a good line. low stretch, sensative and user friendly. Many recommend cxx, but many complain about the userability (memmory issues). Im looking at 20 or 25lb test. Also fish out of a kayak so too much stretch may affect hook sets. 

I use copoly line, I personally like it and as hobby fisherman I haven’t had enough experience to tell a difference between copoly and flouro. I’m sure in time that will come and I’ll make a switch but right now I’m absolutely fine and can’t see a reason for switching.
