What rod would you use to throw that rig?:)

I'm surprised not one of you hillbillies suggested dynamite ;)

The OP said lure/plastic. . .so it would have to be C4 not dynamite! Not sure if that would work the same. B)

Custom made extra extra super heavy rod. 14 feet 3 inches.  Rated up to 8 pounds.   On 150 pound braid.   Only way to fish that rig.

I never understood this type of question, I mean do you plan on being shot down behind enemy lines with only one lure? Personally I bought a bigger boat so I could carry as many lures as I want.

No, you see, once you spend 60 grand on a souped up bass boat how will you possibly afford lures? You'll only have like 5 bucks left after a purchase like that and you'll have to spend it wisely. :D

Imma gonna go with a 4" Senko or Bass Pro Stik-O.

Watermelon Magic coloration....

If I broke off 6" of line with every lure of all the rods I have I would run out of line before lures.

Honestly, I feel pretty confident that with a 3.75 inch Keitech fat impact in literally any of the baitfish colors, rigged on a 3/0 1/8oz Monaer swimbait hook,  I will stand a decent chance of catching a bass in almost any reasonable condition.

Whenever I embark on the necessary bit unpleasant task of cleaning up my little home "office", I do get the urge to try to pair down to just a handful of lures.  The aformantioned paddle tail, a green senko, a shad color spinnerbait, and a black/blue jig seem like all one really needs for 90% of the waters I would ever fish.

No contest.  A 5" Senko in color 297 (Green Pumpkin/Black Fleck).  I have caught bass in every type of water from tannic in Florida to crystal clear in Wisconsin and Michigan and stained on the Potomac.  I wrote an article for Yamamoto years ago and I came up with 78 ways to rig this bait.  I never hit the water without it.  Anywhere.

Link that article. My buddy has a "1001 Cocktails" bartenders bible and    we spent most of our 20s and some of our early 30s trying to make and drink everyone of them. I feel like I should try to rig a senko all 78 ways at some point as well.

I’ll play.

Z-man big TRD in green Pumpkin. You can fish it like a stick worm, T-rig C-rig or wacky rig. Fish it on a Ned rig as is or cut some off and fish it like a finesse TRD. Works all seasons so it would be my one lure choice.

Runner up would be the Missle Baits 48 worm. For all the reasons above. Versatile bait.
