I think I've decided on one of these for my first crankbait setup, but I've read some conflicting info on them. Im looking at the 6.3

 

If this is my first casting setup, will I notice a difference between these 2? I tried a few in person but dont remember if I tired the Fuego now. I dont need a top of the line, just something that functions well and will be fairly smooth.

 

I love my ballistic spinning reel and my stradic, but lots of mid range spinning reels by both companies seem plenty good enough for me, for comparison.

 

Still need to find the right rod....

I am sure someone with more knowledge will chime in. I never used the Fuego but I do have multiple Tatulas and was told the only difference is the TWS. I would recommend picking up the Tatula Ct on eBay for $80-$90 and start from there. I think the TWS is worth the added extra.

I've bought both in the last couple of weeks. They sure seem pretty similar other that the T-wing. I already sold the Tatula, I much preferred the Fuego. It casts an easy 15-20 yards further than the Tatula SV TW using the same line, rod & lure. In my opinion the T-wing is just a gimmick, a solution to a non-existent problem.

The Tatula CT casts further than the SV. The SV is not meant to be a long distance caster. It's made for control. The t-wing is especially useful when flipping and pitching. You can really feel the line flowing more freely. It's not a gimmick, but it's not going to turn any reel into some unbelievable machine either.

Yes, it was set correctly. I already have a thread on here about the Tatula, I just gave the OP my opinion of the two reels. I don't want to derail his thread 

Tatula has aluminum frame and side plates. Also had the T wing system. 7 bearings. 

 

Fuego has aluminum frame with plastic side plates. No T wing. 5 bearings. 

 

I plan on getting a fuego soon. I have an original tatula that I purchased used a year ago. It's smooth and solid. I can tell it's built to last. I really like Daiwa baitcasting reels. I have mine paired with a St Croix Avid X 6'6 Mh-f for CQB.

I have 2 CTs and 2 SVs and all 4 cast the same distance 

The difference I've found in the fuego and ct are only the t-wing and the cosmetics. The cts have different colored tension knobs for the different ratios and also the fuego has a matte finish where the ct's and she's have a glossy finish. I have 2 fuegos, 3 ct's, 1 ct type r, and 2 sv's. All cast the same difference pretty much. Although I didn't buy the sv reels to be casters. I use them for short casts and skipping/pitching.

Sold my tatula CT and bought 4 fuego ct.

 

I percieve no difference except in my wallet. 

 

I fish a lot of heavy vegetation and Ive never felt fuego ct flex.  Casts every bit as good as tatula.  Almost bought an SV for skipping until I realized I'm use to tat/fuego and skip well as is.

Thanks everyone for the information. I just ordered the Fuego CT 6.3. I'm  sure it will be plenty good enough to get started, and now focus on finding a crankbait rod...

Is the tatula ct smaller than the Fuego? More palmable?

Same frame, same spool, same main gears. The only things the Tatula CT have that are different are the T-Wing system and bearing in the crank handles...otherwise the two are identical.
