Ok so I have two bait casters I need to spool.

 

one I will be using for spro rats .. frogs in Lilly’s. I figured 50 pound braid for this one? ( do you guys use flouro leader for this after the braid? If so what pound flouro leader? )

 

the other I am going to use for senko worms. Jigs. Kreature bait finess etc.  I was thinking 16 pound flouro? 

 

Does this seem right or would you recommend another way? 

50lb, no leader, should be fine for frogs. Senkos and creatures, I usually use around 12lb fluoro, unless I'm in moderate cover, in which case I'll bump up to 15lb.

So the senko and creature rod I’ll spoil the entire reel with 15lb flouro?

 

what about spro rat should I tie that directly to the 50lb braid on my frog rod or would it be better to use 15lb flouro rod for the rat.

 

also jigs?  Was thinking straight to the braid?

Let me ask this question out of ignorance.  If you are using 50# braid with no leader, why flouro as opposed to a standard mono? Isn't invisibility the chief advantage of flouro?

The braid would be on top of the water and fluorocarbon would be underneath. I don’t think it matters so I just use monofilament.

Gotcha Tyler.  I only use braid on my offshore bottom fishing rigs, so I really don't know much about it as it relates to bass fishing.  

Frogs:  40# Smackdown with #15 leader

 

Senko, etc:  Spinning tackle/ #6 Tatsu

 

Rats and hollow body frogs -> straight 40 to 50lb braid

For senkos, creature baits, and jigs -> 12lb minimum fluoro or copolymer 

I have never even considered putting a leader on the end of my braid for frog fishing and cannot see any advantage in doing so.  The frog is being dragged across thick grass (in my case), or a small opening in the bed and the bite is a reaction bite and I don't think the bass are stopping to consider what is tied to the frog.

I prefer 50lbs straight braid no leader for fishing frogs, especially in Lilly pads.  As for jigs, creature baits, senkos etc...kinda depends on the cover. But for me 98% of the time it is 12-15lbs fluorocarbon, occasionally I might use 12lbs co-polymer line and if the cover is pretty nasty then I will use 40 to 50 lbs braid.
