FIRST BASS 2019 in Ny!

Featured Replies

So I live in western New York and usually around this time we have 20 degree temps in the day and 2 feet of snow everywhere but this year , this year is different ! Yesterday was 50 degrees and sunny. Some places I fish have the problem of it has ice on it but only a 1/4 inch thick or less so you can’t break it. One small pond I have permission to fish though is wide open! Water temps around 39 so I just had to go out. Fished for about 4 hours with one bite but man was it all I have wanted. The feeling of a fish fighting back was amazing. Got it on the megabass jerkbait.

Yeah I wasn’t expecting to get much. Just being out able to fish was awesome but to actually catch a fish just made it perfect ?

Congrats! That's pretty good for up those parts. We've been lucky with the weather here as well only more so. I caught a limit on the 31st and again on the first, and it's been consistently good. One day last week was crazy good. It's been a while since it's been like this in January. Burn more coal!!!
