Strike King's version of the Jack Hammer?

Featured Replies

Surfing around on TW today I came across the Strike King thunder cricket vibrating jig. Seems like in the photos that the blade is connected to the head. I've heard nothing about this bait prior to today. It actually seems like there is very little information out there about this bait. Has anyone seen this bait in person? Thoughts?

Andy Montgomery was killin em on MLF today with that bait. He helped develop it, according to him. He acted like it wasn't available yet. I'm definitely going to check that out.

Must be brand new, haven't heard of it. They had the Pure Poison and then the Rage Blade, but neither of those are like a Jackhammer. Assuming it will be much more affordable, which would be a huge bonus.

According to TW, it’s avaiable for pre order and not avaiable until 3/15.  Priced at $10.99.

Looks to be available for preorder now. Probably posted them today to capitolize on andys use and success on them today. Looks good. $10.99, so noticibly cheaper than a jackhammer too

Wow, that looks so much like a fancied up Pure Poison (sold for 4.99), it's uncanny. That's going to be a hard pass from me for $11. The blade is maybe slightly different? Rest looks the exact same.

Just had to have a look! Doesn't even look as good as the pure poison as it just has a banded skirt rather than the strike king skirt they use on their spinnerbaits and the pure poison.

I wonder if Strike King is paying Z-Man unless the patent is up but I'd think we'd be seeing a lot more if that were the case.  I have a feeling they are going to sell a ton of them after Montgomery started talking about it and catching fish on it.  He's catching them with it again this morning.

Pretty sure it's on BPS website. And I'm pretty sure it costs more there too.

Yup, $13.99 at BPS. Might as well buy the Jackhammer!

The very original Pure Poison was great when it was first released. Then they messed with it and be lucky if you could get one that the blade didn't seize up, nor did it start thumping very easily.  That was my experience anyway. I'm using Sieberts fogy now adays and that's been a real solid bait for me.
