I plan to run 20 # test but what do you prefer ? I plan to use jigs, creature style baits, and all around

Tatsu behaves so much better, especially as you go up the size chart.  It's my choice for most of my fishing.  I use it in 6# to 20#.

Unless you are fishing some heavy cover or using lures over 3 oz., 20 lb FC is difficult to manage on 100 or 200 size bait casting reels do to memory issues. Tatsu is smaller diameter line per lb test making slightly less stiff, @$49 per 200 yards it's a primium line. 20 lb AbrazX is a popular big swimbait line used on 300 & 400 size reels. I wouldn't go over 15-16 lb test FC on average size bass reels.

Tatsu is very hard to beat and I tend to like it best around 12 lbs. watch for sales.....last year there was a 50% off when buying 4 spools

According to the website it's out of stock in Lake Charles but check anyway.

I use 20# Tatsu on my flipping set ups, it handles great. I've never used AbrazX but highly recommend Tatsu, especially in the heavier weights.

20# Tatsu is very easy to manage with a little squirt of KVD Line and Lure conditioner.

I'd go Tatsu all day. AbrasX is nice, but Tatsu is the best.

Yup ~ Agreed.

 

When it comes to fluorocarbon, for me, Tatsu scores high enough in knot strength, manageability/handling, durability/abrasion resistance, and sensitivity & stretch, that I feel I'm getting the most I can out of it; with very little in the way of compromise (except for the cash required.)

 

My time on the water is important to me, and I do not care to waste the little I have - messing with my line or losing fish. 

 

The turning point for me was last fall south of the border - I fished 25lb Tatsu exclusively. 

 6 1/2 days straight - 65 hours.  Gave it plenty of opportunities to choke.   All kinds of Rocks, Trees & Big Super Hard pulling Freak Bass . . . Never had a single failure of any kind - not One.

 

  Haven't tried every fluorocarbon out there, so there may be one that does something better.

If there is and you know what it is, please hook a brother up - especially at the current rate $$$.

 

Until then - every time I feel I 'need the best' - I'm spooling up Tatsu.

Tatsu and don't look back. And if you go braid to leader, the cost is not that bad using 10-20ft at a time.

If I have to have something extremely abrasion resistant, I go with Toray Superhard. Otherwise, it's Tatsu and InvizX all day long. I don't even bother with any other lines. Simply no need to.
