End of the world you say?  In that case, and I hate to say it, but I would choose a 7 1/2 foot heavy Okuma Battle Cat catfishing rod with an Abu Garcia Ambassador (see, I got BASS in there) 7000 reel spooled with 30 pound Big Game line.......and a shovel to dig up the worms for bait!

If I ever had a confidence setup, its that right there.  I'd chase river smallies until the end, whatever that may be.
