1000 Posts on Bass Resource

Featured Replies

This is my 1000th post on the Bass Resource forums.  I know it's nothing compared to many of you with several thousand posts, but I'm typically the lurker-type on forums - So posting enough reach 1000 is sort of out of character for me...It's a personal milestone for sure.  I'm a member of several other forums and I'm not even in the triple digits.  I originally signed up with the name of "Stratos 20SS" but later changed it to my actual name, since boats don't last forever :).

I've actually surfed BR for a lot longer than I've posted, I remember browsing BR back in my HS days along with Bass Fishing Homepage (RIP), so like 2001-2003ish or so?  I remember on the first BR page there was always a fishing quote with an 'Enter' button below it for YEARS that drove me crazy, that one extra click it required ?...I finally just bookmarked the real homepage.

I don't know what got me to actually start posting here more recently, but it probably had to do with having more time in front of a computer when I started working a desk job as opposed to all the field work I did for several years after school.  Many of my posts are just fish pics, bragging ?... But not all.  I do try to post helpful items when I feel that I have relevant experience to add.  My 'claim to fame' here, if I have one, is my post about spending the day with KVD when the Elite Series came to the Potomac a couple years ago.  It was an awesome day and I'm glad people liked my write-up on it.

Anyway, when I saw that I was approaching 1000 posts here I got a bit nostalgic back to the old days before I even actually posted, so here's a little then and now (because why make a post without fish pics ?).

Way back to when I was 14 or 15 and I probably read an article here about Texas-rigging a worm in deep water and adapted it to my local lake to catch these.

To now - 18 or so years later, several boats later, a couple hundred tournaments later, and a great many bass caught later...One of the most recent bass I've caught, from a tournament last weekend on SML.

Thanks to BR and everyone on here who help to make it great!  Maybe I can link back to this post when I hit 2000 in another 5 years or so :).  Anyone local to the MD/NOVA/DC area is welcome to hit me up anytime, I know many of you already...Same goes for any of you passing through the area.  If schedules allow, I'd be happy to show off our local waters - especially the Potomac - to anyone from the BR crew.
