Strike King fishing line?

Featured Replies

When did this come out? I think I heard something about this a few months ago and was curious if anyone had tried it yet?

I think they launched it at icast.

Try finding out who makes it as BPS only private labels they don't make line.

For the price point you have all the top rated line available.

I wouldn't buy kite string from BPS.

Tom

100% agreed with WRB.

Oh I wasn't considering buying it, I was just curious if anyone had a review on it yet.

This is Strike King branded line. Brian.

This is Strike King line - they are going to be selling it at more places than BPS.

Everyone was complaining about BPS, this line is not their product. But thanks for the SA comment. Brian.

I apologize, I now realize you were saying it was actually made by SK. I thought you merely were reading the box and said it was braid by Strike King and if so that was rather obvious lol

The “sidewinder” tool is an interesting idea for spooling  on the run. I like the idea of the included envelope for recycling. I will be giving this a shot.

Like BPS Strike King doesn't make line unless they bought a supplier. BPS retails the SK labeled line taking advantage of thie name recognition. What should be important to angler is who manufacturers the line.

Tom

PS my bone to pick isn't with SK it's BPS

I like it, still won't buy it unless it's highly reviewed

Is that $25 for 300 yards or is it 150 or 200?  Probably not going to be anything I'll try either way, but I am wondering how 'premium' SK thinks this line is.

Lew's owns Strike King now.  Lew's also sells fishing line with their name on it.  Most likely it's the same line as the Strike King line.  Both brands claim of their braided lines to be made of the highest quality "Japanese fibers". So wherever Lew's makes or get their line from it's from the same place Strike King does.

This line came out at iCast last year. I've seen it listed for sale at a few websites, but it's always out of stock. Looks like they're finally getting this stuff on the shelves of stores.

It's in the video above. Basically its a suction cup on the spool so you can stick it on a surface to spool your line.

At $29 for 200 yards of Fluorocarbon, the cost of the tool and prepaid envelope are included.

Strike King was purchased a few years ago.  Their offices were recently closed and a once great company is slowly being turned into a brand only.  I expect we will see lots of products coming on the market under the Strike King brand as the owners try to monetize the brand.  Typically they don’t add any value to the product,  they just order something from an Asian manufacturer and stick the name and logo on it.  This happens all the time in the fishing industry because anglers are very brand loyal.
