Strike King Prices

Featured Replies

I was just cruising the Academy website and it looks like Strike King just jacked up their prices...like, a lot.  Do we think this is an Academy thing or will we see this at all retailers??

We were told the other day that it is our fault because we buy these over priced products that are hyped up by guys with Youtube channels who are selling us snake oil and we are buying it. Since we (anglers) are buying these $20 - $25 crankbaits and $18 Jackhammers it is allowing other companies to raise their prices as well.

So, I apologize! LOL

I certainly hope it's not everywhere.  I love me some rage baits but I promise I'm not ever going to spend much if anymore than 5.99 for a pack of plastics.  Zoom still offers some good baits at affordable prices, as does missile which is quickly becoming my favorite plastics company.  I can walk away from strike king same as I did Yamamoto years ago

If it's not all places, then Academy will lower theirs. But I must assume it is across the board.

Hopefully it's just the new ownership of Strike King testing the waters so to speak. Still plenty of good choices, Zoom, Yum, Big Bite Baits, are all good value baits.

YUM and BBB, even before the price hike.

H2O and Berkley hard baits are stellar.

I think that is specific to the retailer. I see basspro do that sometimes too. And the same rage bug is listed on academy's site at two different spots and prices.

tackle warehouse still has sane pricing.

I started tying my own jigs, lest I go broke. Looks like I will have to start shooting my own plastics too if my beloved Rage Craws' price spikes.

The new Strike King rage products on TW have are much higher and I expect the older rage stuff to get the prices jacked up too. It's probably because Googan Baits who use their rage tail flanges are expensive and they realized that some suckers will pay more.

From what I have heard from the owner of my local tackle shop, is everything is going up here real soon in price.
