3600/3700 cases help?

Featured Replies

In my tackle bag, ive got a number of the regular ol' 3600/3700 type boxes, but this goes for any of those types of plastic tackle boxes.

I keep having the smaller hooks shift out of their spot and spilling into the other spots. I tolerated it for years but now I'm annoyed by it. What do you guys do to keep the smaller stuff in place?

Thankyou

Use small safety pins or a paper clip. Also a line tie snap works.

i use to have your issues, at the time I was using one of the Falcon FTO boxes which helped reduce the problem but it still occurred.  I ended up getting a Bass Mafia box years ago and haven't had any issues.  They are pricey but well worth the money.  I've dropped it a few times and nothing has moved.

This small, clam shell box will fit in a pocket in your main tackle box. You can’t carry everything you own, but you should be able to carry more than enough for a few trips at least. Lots of option as far as the size and number of compartments. You can get one for just a few bucks at the Plano Outlet Store, just west of where you live.

I buy the small ziploc medicine bags that can be found at Walgreens, Walmart, etc in the area they sell pill boxes.

I got the same as @MN Fisherlink but 4x4 4mil version. It is more heavy duty and big enough for 7/0 hook. Before this I use battery case for small hooks, a few Texas/dropshot weight which work well. I use 3700 Plano one compartment box (utility box) to carry all these when needed.

Man, thanks guys! These are all terrific suggestions. This helps out big time. I actually have no idea why i waited this long to ask about it, or actually do something about it.
There's hope at the end of the tunnel! ??

I super glue or double sided tape a magnet to each compartment in the box. My hook box could open and fall and I would lose nothing. Also, no annoying rattling when it's in my vehicle.

These shallow Plano boxes don’t let even small drop shot hooks under the dividers.

His problem, I think, is he's using the 'original' Plano boxes - the ones with the molded-in, flip down tabs...not even Prolatch. Even just upgrading to Prolatch would be an improvement.

That is a very cool idea!

Hooks still escape in my Pro Latch Hydroflo boxes.  The Edge Terminal box prevents this.  So does any other utility box with molded compartments.

I recommended these because they work great and are very inexpensive.

There isn't really a good way to "repair" your old boxes. IMO

Also, they will fit right next to your older Plano boxes too.

From a tip I saw on here somewhere. I used a glue gun to attach cut to fit pieces of shelf liner to the insides of my plano box lids. It has worked pretty well! Some stuff will catch on the liner at times, but if you tap the lid prior to opening it will help with that problem.

Thanks, I use the ceramic ones from Amazon.  Nothing moves in that box.

I stopped using the Plano 3600 & 3700 boxes for terminal tackle hooks, weights, beads etc. Plano 4600 & 4700 boxes work good, tighter fitting lids with latches.

Laminated, alittle thicker than worm bags. Never comes apart at seams, and have never had hooks poke through or rust.

KDW96, what size are these considered. 2"x2", 4"x4"?

This is what I normally use.

The big container is 2x4x1, the bag is 4x4.

They are size 3x3. Actual size is 3 1/2 x3 1/2. Usable area 3x3.
