If You Had To Choose One Line LB Test

Easy for me because I only use Baitcasting. I would go with 14 lb Sufix advance mono.

I couldn't do just one, I'd have to have a different one for casting and spinning, and even then I'd have to add a third category for swimbaits

Spinning - 15lb braid

Baitcasting - 40lb braid

Swimbaits - 20lb copoly

15lbs 832 on the spinning rod.

40lbs 832 on the bait caster.

Line twist doesn't bother me and I don't fish around much rip rap/rocks.

I've got 14 combos in my jon boat that I'm fishing out of this morning with a variety of types of lines and lbs. One type and lb line is simply against my religion.

14# mono, when I started fishing, this is what I used, of course then, it was about the only line to use. You did have a choice, Trilene or Stren.

#12 Floro

I spent many years fishing straight 30lb braid on both spinning and casting.  I could go back to that and still have pretty high confidence.  Only place it might be lacking a bit would be for ultralight spinning applications like Ned rigs.

15lb braid would be my choice if I had to put one line on all of my reels.
