Plopper today.  And I must say, there is a lot going on here...  It looks like there were 4 main lines going to it or something - I dont know.  Check out the picture.  The main line was #4 that I recovered from a ball of sticks near a goose nest on a tiny little island.  The goose wasn't happy as I was grabbing it but I kept her fended off with my kayak paddle.  

 

Also, the front hook was pretty damaged and the back hook is missing.  This just proves, to me, if you see someone fishing that is struggling and/or young or obviously new to fishing, STOP and help them out.  Helping out a fellow angler is the best thing you can do in a day and will make everyone happier.  I always carry 2 pairs of finger nail clippers in my pants and have given a few away so someone can clip their line and retie as needed.

Speaking of unskilled anglers I freak out when I see someone catch a decent fish and clearly doesn't know how to unhook and release it quickly. I'm seeing more dead bass on the bank lately probably due to more fishing traffic from Co-vid. I guess it might actually be helping the ponds I fish since no one harvests. Wishful thinking.

I'm with you there Cosmo. I saw lazy parents with a kid, the kid caught a bass he would not touch it and after it fell onto the ground the parents said to just kick it in so he stomps on it and pushes it into the weeds. I was ready to find the nearest tree limb and hang myself by my own braid.
