Getting into swimbaits

Featured Replies

Recently been catching them on a 5 inch trout and I’m interested into getting into more swimbaits. I use a medium heavy  6’6 since I bank fish w/ 30 pound braid. Was wondering if anyone knows some good swimbaits I could throw ? Thanks

For the medium/small sized swimbaits it's hard to beat the Bass Assassin Turbo Shads.  Just a huge variety of colors available, great action and priced decent.  https://www.bassassassin.com/store/p62/Turbo_Shad_-_4″_Freshwater.html#/

Also, for a slighty more expensive one the Storm 360 Search Baits are killer and you can get them much longer in teh 5" + range.  From what i have heard they bought the old Trigger X molds to bring these out to market.  whatever the history they work great. https://www.rapala.com/storm/soft-baits/360gt-searchbait/360gt-searchbait-/360GT+Searchbait.html

Enjoy and good luck out there.

Berkley The Champ Swimmer rigged on an Owner 5167W-705. It's 4.75". Comes through weeds and muck great due to it's nose's shape and that hook. I have lots of colors but the best producers have been perch and green pumpkin. This bait has been dynamite since last season.

This seller has them on sale and shipped several colors that everyone else listed as out of stock.

Megabass Magdraft Freestyle is 6" and weighs in at 1.2oz. if you're looking for something larger than a fluke this is an awesome swimbait!!!

If you're going to get into swimbaits, the first thing you'll have to look at is a dedicated rod and reel to throw them on.

Are you talking "swimbaits" like 5.8 keitech's, or "swimbaits" like glide baits, big topwater rats, Hudds etc. ?
