Bought an old tackle box with some decent stuff. Have one thing I can’t make heads or tails of, not sure if it was originally part of something else or is supposed to clamp on to something else. There were two Hofschneider red eye wiggler’s in the box, not sure if it’s that company or just similar.

I am hoping to use it, even if I can’t get a name if someone could tell me how to rig it and or what it attaches to it would be greatly appreciated!

Is that a lip for dead bait?  

It looks to me like it was crimped on to something else at some point.

I'm with jedi...I think it's a dead bait rig of some sort. Although there's no line tie.

There is a line tie. That treble hook rig has an eye at the end where it comes up from below (2nd pic). I’m thinking it’s used to attach some sort of dead bait (with those crimp ends) and the treble rig is threaded onto (into) the bait. Maybe to liven up the action? 

 

I searched a while and could not even find a pic of anything similar, other than the ruby eyes on an Eppinger spoon. 

I found a dead bait trolling rig that kinda looked similar but not exactly the same as what you have. 

It looks like a dodger or mooching used for trolling for salmon with cut bait.
