Pfft... yeah, and pull it up at every single dock and laydown? I'll pass. But, not a terrible suggestion. A PowerPole would be nice but I can't get myself to drop the cash.

There is something undeniably cool about jig fishing..a certain mystique for sure. About the only thing that intrigues me more is crankbait fishing particularly learning about old crankbaits. I'm obsessed with learning about old wiggle warts...and the old poes cranks. I've watched the bassmasters casts from the past where David fritts talks about winning the classic on a crank at least 5 or 6 times in the past few months.

5-10 seconds to deploy, 15 maybe 20 to retrieve/ clean off? If you’re fishing tournaments then that’s a different story. A few years ago I started anchoring up in spots instead of run n gun style mostly out of necessity and starting having better success (I fish out of a canoe), of course you have to be reasonably sure there’s fish there or it might be a waste of time. I’ll hit an area 360° with at least 2 presentations (often more) dictated by time of day and hit cover from more than one angle before moving on (if you don’t have a pattern already established obviously). I do drift fish still though sometimes on unknown waters. Agitating bass into striking is an effective and overlooked  approach imo

I’ve thought about putting a anchor wizard on my kayak. While drifting through a weedbed if I got a hit I could quick drop the anchor so I could work that spot more

Indeed! It's guerilla warfare fishing. Next to topwater, it's my favorite. I always keep one rigged and with me.

It is like warfare...lol.....you stick it in the cover and then boom! Slam the hook set and it's game on.

A jig is my Mjolnir and I am Thor.

I could throw away all my tackle and flip and pitch a jig all year and never complain

Funny as hell when you set that hook and launch a 10” bass over your head

I'm happy when they fly over my head...then I don't have to duck   :smile1:
