Dudes 71 and he just won the FLW tournament at the Mississippi river. Also probably one of the best swim jig fisherman walking the planet. On top of everything he just seems like a laid back down to earth guy in every interview..so it's hard not to root for him. I'm really looking forward to his FLW Day 5 coming from this win.

I watched some today.  He was great to listen to.  Great attitude.

And thank gawd Wheeler didnt win yet again.  Not a hater, just like to see different winners.

Ha...I get it. Nobody likes seeing the same old story play out with the same people on top all the time. But I've gotta admit that I really like Wheeler. Also there is no doubt in my mind that he is the best fisherman in the world right now. Only guy close to him the past few years is John Cox.

Well yeah jordan lee is up there as well...kinda forgot about that honestly...still think Wheeler is the king right now. Stacking KVD caliber paper.

Did not expect to see TM with the trophy and am not unhappy about it. Nice to see seasoned pros doing well.

Agreed..felt that way in 16 and 19 when Clunn won in St. Johns. I've been watching him since I was about 5 years old and he was doing it long before that. Awesome to see these guys still competing with all the new hammers.

I have a tourney at La Crosse next weekend so I watched as much of the FLW coverage as I could.  I was so much fun to watch and I loved that Tom won.  I've been familiar with him for a while and it's always great to see a local win.

I watched the day 5 and then had to go back and watch the day 4 coverage. Pretty good stuff! I love how he put things together using those three different jigs.

Yeah that whole deal was a joke...Jed was kinda being a crook. From what I heard Tom tore the invoice up and told Mike Surman it was on the house .

Didn't understand the whole deal. I can't get how with the way social media is and that many high profile pros including his dad running around...how he ever coulda thought he could get by pulling some dumb s#$% like that without it getting out. Pretty stupid.

Tom's son has quite a history with the law (public information).  Add price gouging to that.  However, when on the phone with him, Surman never asked what it would cost...seems very odd to me.

After hearing Mike's side of things, nothing has changed for me.

It wasn't until after Dudleys youtube video did anything happen to the cost of the tow.

 

Seems like Mike knew that his only chance to get unstuck was Tom's son Jed.

So if he had to pay a little higher cost so be it.

Mike said afterwards he offered up to $750, but Tom said no. 

Hearing they also did the same thing to Dean Rojas further cements this as an ongoing scam for me.

Guess the bass do not discriminate on basis of age!!!!

Nope not at all. Or on sex, race, price of your boat or rods and reels...don't care what kind of car you drive or house you live in. They only care if you can present the right thing at the right time to them.

This was local to me, but I didn't know who Tom was.  I was watching Wheeler's video so I checked YouTube for some TM swim jig videos.  He said he doesn't "set the hook" just reels faster.  That's baffling to me, I'm not sure I could fish that way.  It's like instinct, I'm crossing their eyes every time regardless of the lure I'm using.
