What can i use in place of a split shot that doesn’t nick line 

I have no idea what rig you are using it on, but just continue using it.  

If you use a split shot with mono or fluorocarbon you can see it kinks the line / creates  a weak point so i am looking for a alternative 

Rubber core sinkers - lay the line in the groove, twist the ends, holds the weight in place. Otherwise do what I've done for over 50 years - use regular split shot and deal with it.

Esox, what exactly are you trying to do? Have you read the posts at the top of the page or the BR YouTube channel? Tons of good info there. 

I saw a video recently where the guy just put a small piece of rubber band inside(on one side) the normal pinch on weight. I haven't tried this so I can't say if it would solve the problem but I don't like the kinks they make either. 

Find the lightest slip weights you can and peg them. I've been using1/32oz ones for my finesse stuff.

 

Also- you can use split shot without as many issues if you crimp on the shot at the end of the line before tying on a hook. Sliding a pre-crimped shot up the line is a lot easier on line kink than crimping it hard in place. (But I did still switch over to slip weights almost exclusively?)

Get one of these and some Mojo weights (or the cylindrical weight of your choice). Allows you to change the leader length without damaging the line.

Small bullet weight and bobber stops .

Lots of good advice so far in this thread. Take their advice and kill some time on tackle warehouse, you should find what you need unless it's all out of stock...

As outlined in the book "In Pursuit of Giant Bass" pinch the split shot before tying the hook. Slide the split shot up and down to groove the lead. Put it at its desired depth, cut the damaged line and tie your hook.

a nail weight , put in the head of a bait. fluke ,worm .
