Peg boards

Featured Replies

Recently moved into a house with my girlfriend and she actually suggested we turn the back room into my fishing and camping room and obviously I was very pleased with that idea ? built my first pegboard to store my soft plastics and I absolutely love it. I ran out of pegs so its not complete yet and I will need to build more boards to hang everything I want to hang. Anyway I would love to see everyone else’s peg boards or other fun ways of storing and displaying your tackle!

Well dang it, it turned the picture sideways and made it very blurry.

I prefer to keep my extra stuff in cardboard boxes on shelves in the garage.......

Why?

If they were on peg boards in plain view my wife would know how much stuff I have.........lol

I don't use any peg board.  After working retail for many years, I can't stand the stuff.  Shallow boxes or better yet, clear plastic containers full of plastics in their original bag work best for me.  Hard baits get put into Plano 3700s and organized by brand, size, type.  Stuff in use is all pulled from that backlog, and organized by what rod I use to throw it.

Peg boards allow you to easily see some of what you have. I keep soft plastics in their original

bags on the board.

For me, peg board works for tools and stuff.  For me, storing soft plastics, shelving and plastic shoe boxes work better.  Even indoors, eventually you're going to have a dust issue.   In my uninsulated fishing shed, dust is a major issue.

For hard baits, 3700 boxes and shelving works best for me.

I'm a big fan of peg boards. Like roadwarrior said, it's a good/easy way to see what you have and what needs replenishing, etc.

For my spare bags of plastics I use what I believe are the sweater size rubbermaid type bins of various depths. If I did a pegboard, my wife would never let me buy anymore tackle. For cranks I just have some plano tool/tackle boxes that I store them in. I have learned to stop buying in bulk regardless of how good the sale is. Only a handful of lures will be bought in bulk now, based on how much I use and lose them.

I hate to say it but it got even bigger, and no it hasn't helped me stay as organized as I had hoped. 😒

This is the 'main' board:

I also have a bag in my office where I put the stuff I've 'benched' (bought but don't really use that much).
