So today I made my first foray into assembling some spinner baits. I bought a few pre poured frames, some blades, swivels and some round bend pliers. Decided to attach the end blade with a lock loop. Lets say it went well...ended up with 4 perfect baits and 1 that had to be repaired rebent and tweaked. But hey short arm spinnerbaits are a thing right?

OK I have a question about something that's bugging me...lol.

Have been making spinnerbaits this year..or assembling them. Started trying to use deep cup#2 and #3 for my second blade. These things just don't work for the smaller second blade. No big deal but I had to flatten the cup part to get the right rotation.

Don't really use deep cup for my main blade unless I want less thump and tighter spin.

That's it

So what is your question?

Kind of didn't ask one..did I??lol. Has anyone else had this problem with deep cup blades? Used for the smaller blade.

Maybe it's a spacing issue? Did seem to rotate better once I made it more flat. Won't use them again though.

While I've never used deep cup blades for the front blade the only times I've had this problem is when I wasn't paying attention and put the blade on upside down. The cupped side should face the wire.

I made the exact same mistake this year . Deep cups do not work for a secondary blade .
