Ah, good catch. I see what's going on.  Just a naming convention issue.

"Bass Fishing Forums" is the name of the forums, but so is a forum section which the "General" forum belongs.

I changed the name of the section, so the breadcrumb isn't as confusing.

Thanks!

  • Thanks for all the kind words guys!  Glad you like the new site. I realize it's an adjustment, and change can be difficult when it's "forced" upon you.     This is why I spent the past 18 mo

  • Thanks! And if there's any doubt, THIS is the big announcement I've been alluding to. The entire site has been redesigned, replatformed, and moved to a new server.

My apologies but I posted this possible site bug in a new thread (which the moderators can delete).

Since the site upgrade, I've run into this bug. When in View New Content, I was exploring the difference in Expand and Collapse the listings. Once I chose Collapse, I could not switch back to Expand: selecting Expand resulted in no change. Clearing cache made no difference. The browser is Firefox 82.0.2, Mac OS 10.13.16.

The site rework has created a much cleaner interface. Kudos!

You may wish to clear your cookies (as this selection is held in a cookie) and cache then attempt again.

Love the changes, good eye for sure. graphic design is a real art.

One thing I have noticed, and in different browsers and also on both my laptop and desktop is that when I first come to the site, the little world notification icon will flash a number if I have notifications. It literally flashes once and quickly. I have to be looking at it as the page loads or I'll miss it. The number doesn't stay visible. Not an issue at all as I always check it to see if anything is new, just thought I'd mention it. And, then again, maybe it's only me.

After a series of browser resets, cache clearing, etc., the problem persisted so I gave up on it. Then, low and behold, after a cache and history clearing for another reason, days later, it now works properly. Sometimes you just have to be grateful something works right, even if you're not sure why.

Appreciate the help, Glenn.

So the technical explanation for that, is that the cached files and cookies from BassResource expire after 2 weeks.  Yesterday would have been exactly 2 weeks after the redesign launch.

Glad it's working for you now!

Picking nits....

I've had a challenge finding messages.   Maybe just my phone (Galaxy S20)... or just me.  But when this opens, I discovered, by chance, that it can be slid to the left to uncover messages.

Not sure if its a sizing thing, or if maybe some indication could be placed to indicate that there is more 'hidden' content available....or if its just me, I'll have to remember how I got there.
