Member Map a bit off

Featured Replies

I’ve noticed quite a few member map additions in the last couple of days, and just for the heck of it I checked mine, and it says I’m in Minnesota instead of Parry Sound, in Ontario. Guess there’s a glitch, maybe that’s why everyone is adding a new location, because theirs got changed as well. I can’t seem to change it back myself, perhaps I’m doing it wrong? ?‍♂️

@A-Jay moved from northern Michigan to Nashville, Tennessee and back to northern Michigan all in a matter of a couple weeks.

Maybe he recorded his debut country album? ?

Hard to say without knowing how it assigns location data.

I noticed the same thing. When I go on “view new content” I just see dozens and dozens of people posting member map markers. I wasn’t sure if it was people actually placing it or some sort of bug that was just making it act crazy on its own. I think mine is still fine though...

Some of these member markers seem to have been made without the member actually visiting the site;

For years.

And a least one off them was made on the profile of a member who is no longer with us.

2020 just keeps upping the ante'.

It's me.  Kinda.

I changed the profile fields to text-only, and in doing so, it added visible HTML tags to existing entries.  I've been cleaning them up, but when I save the changes, the map marker automatically updates too - even though I didn't touch it.

Odd bug.  I haven't figured that one out yet.

But to fix it, you can just right-click on your marker and remove it. Then you can add it back at the right location.

That explains it.

I will admit, I was scratching my nugget pretty good trying to figure that one out.

I tried to right click on it, but it won’t let me remove it, only move it instead. Of course, when I type in my location, it only seems to come up with similar spelled places that are all in the states, and nothing from Canada. Oh well, I’m not real concerned about it, as long as the forums keep working for me I’m all good.

I didn’t realize that I moved to the Houston area, lol. I put it back to Seattle, lol. Thanks.

I had no idea markers existed here but one showed up saying I was in SF, and had an address of a fight club.  I think I erased it.

I stayed right where I was. The story of my life.
