JeffD
Hey guys, I'm new to this section of the forum. I'm not ready yet to making tackle from scratch. What I do want to do is, make my own skirts for jigs, chatterbaits, and spinnerbaits. What is your experience with who has the best selection colors and components. Please be specific if you can. If this has been already been discussed, I'm sorry for the repeat.
moguy1973
I've ordered stuff from fishingskirts.com before. They have a massive list of colors to choose from.
Michigander
For skirts fishingskirts.com probably has the biggest selection. I get some from Janns Necraft as well. I enjoyed picking up their random variety pack as well. It gave me a whole pile of colors for little accents that I would not have picked up a full package of. Really useful. I also enjoy a lot of the unskirted jig heads from Siebert Outdoors to build off of because I am not remotely interested in pouring lead.

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 6, 2020 Global Moderator Share Posted December 6, 2020 I buy a lot of blades from different stores on Ebay. I don't make large quantities of spinnerbaits so smaller lots of 10 blades is more efficient. Plus I mainly make more specialized baits (large blades, hammered, copper and gold, or painted blades), so it can be easier to find those things from places that specialize in them. Super User Munkin Posted December 24, 2020 Super User Share Posted December 24, 2020 Barlows Tackle Lurepartsonline JannsNetcraft Fishingskirts.com Janns (I think) has a chart that shows what blade sizes go on what size spinnerbaits. JeffD
I wanted to order a spinner skirt kit and a jig skirt kit from fishingskirts.com, but they're out of stock and they don't have an answer for when they will be back in stock. Am I better off just ordering the separate parts and building my own inventory? Any recommendations on colors?

Am I better off just ordering the separate parts and building my own inventory? Any recommendations on colors? Just started making jig skirts myself. Since a lot of stuff is out of stock I just went with basic colors and started there. You can make some nice skirts by keeping it simple and they end up looking pretty good! Combinations of greens, browns, black, purple etc. A nice thing about fishing skirts.com is that they have a skirt builds section. You can check that out for some ideas using the basic colors you pick up.
