Hello everyone else on BassResource!

Featured Replies

Hello! I am Josh, also known as TheBasslayer, and I'm new to this forum, even though I have posted some stuff today.

Where I fish: I mainly fish in the rivers and lakes in the Kalamazoo/Portage Michigan area, like Willow Lake, Lake Hill and Brook, Portage Creek, Sometimes the Kalamazoo River, Austin Lake, Long Lake, and many more. I also fish in the Ludington Area when my family visits since we own a vacation apartment. I've fished the Pere Marquette River, Lake Michigan (Sorta), Big Sable River/Hamlin Lake, and Pere Marquette Lake.

How long I've fished: I've fished for about 3-4 years, starting in 2016, when I caught my first bluegill.

Fish/Animal species I've caught:

1. Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass

2. Panfish/Rock Bass/Yellow Perch

3. Brown Trout

4. Northern Pike

5. Bowfin

Honorary mention: A snapping turtle who broke off another guy and I snagged the guy's line with my Jerkbait.

Favorite lure: It's a weird one, but the Rapala Shadow Rap 11 in Olive Green usually gets the big bass in my area fired up, especially in spring.

And I am primarily a bank fisherman, but I hope to use more kayaks for fishing.

I will in the future, but for now, I'll just use my Dad's kayak :)
