Mr. Twister 2021

Got home tonight and found a new Mr. Twister catalog in the mailbox. They've got some good baits.                                                               They still have many of the classic Mr. Twister baits, and a couple of good looking new ones also.                                                          The 4" Tri -Com Sassy Swimmer looks like a good swimbait, and I plan on ordering some 4" Ringworms too.                              A whole group of ball head jigs, and grubs of all sizes for the light line fisherman. With all the new plastic baits on the market now, it's always good to see one of the older companies still hanging in there, and making a good product that's affordable in these tough times.                                   My brother and I caught fish on Mr. Twister grubs and Phenom worms over 35 yrs ago. I'll be throwing some of them this spring too. They've always made a good line of baits, and still make them in Linden LA,  as they have since the 1970s.??

I didn't know they still made keeper hooks. Those used to be all I used. Never lost many fish with them either. I might have to order a couple of packs and see if they're as good as I remember.

I humbly admit to being a Mister Twister charter member, and they still send me catalogs today.

Back in the 70s, Mister Twister intermittently sent me a carboard box full of FREE lures.

"Why" you would ask, and I asked myself the same question (Don't look a gift horse in the mouth).

My only logical explanation is that the size of my orders led them to believe I was a tackle shop.

Isn't it odd that the "original" release of many lures is often the best rendition.

Just for example: Zara Spook, Johnson Spoon, Pop-r, Gitzit, Sluggo, Senko ~ ~

The first several bass I caught on plastic worms back in the early 80's were caught with tiny 2.5" IIRC black Mister Twister Phenom worms on a c-rig dragged behind a rental boat in 20' of water. They were only about 1/8" thick and I had to use a tiny hook.

Ever since that time, the vast majority of the bass I have caught have been caught on some sort of plastic worm rig. Probably more than all other artificial lures combined.

I've been getting the catalog for a number of years too, and mine showed up today. The 3" and 4" curly tail was the first artificial lure I ever learned to use.... They still have an occasional place in my rotation today, along with the phenom worm, super lizard, and sometimes others.

Mister Twister still puts out a new bait or two every year, although sometimes these are short-lived, so it's always worth checking in on their site to see what's currently available.  The bargain bin also often has great deals on discontinued baits or overstocks -- I see right now they have a bunch of super lizards & sassy shads for $1/pack.

When they took over in the beginning it was so long hair jigs. They were great on the river for Smallies and Walleyes . Still are

Remember when Mister twister made spinnerbaits and buzzbaits . I still have a spinnerbait , an unusual one too . It has a three way swivel with two blades side by side . It puts out a lot of vibration . Even though the blades are small it pulls as hard as a number 6 Colorado .
