Just purchased 3 new deps SS in the 115, 145, and 175 and I was wondering what  #test you guys throw these on. Heard butch throws the 175 on 12 pound mono so would I be dropping to 8-10 pound test for the 115/145? Kinda scared to use these light lines for these pricey baits but just lmk what works for you guys. Thanks

I throw the 145 on 15 lb fluorocarbon. 

175 is 3 0z. A good 12lb line is fine, or if you have doubts, go to 15, but I wouldn't go much higher than that, unless your fishing in real heavy cover.

 

Just make sure you have a Good knot tied.

Where did you “hear” Butch uses 12# mono?

As far as Ali know Butch uses 20# Seaguar FC for Deps 175.

I use Sunline Armillo 25# (.016D) Nylon line for all my swimbaits between 2 oz to 7 oz.

 At around the 7:45 mark butch claims to use the 175 on 12 pound mono.

if you going to change your line everyday like so many of this guys doing, you can go with lower lb test mono, but someone like me, usually doing braid to FC leader 16lb, but if I throw heavier like 250 or bait sanity ill go till 20lb and my 24oz ill go with 30lb.

Yep Butch said he uses 12 # mono (.013D) for the 175, news to me he used 20 lb AbriaX FC last I talked to Butch  a few years ago.

Based on 12# (.013D)  Maxima mono, I would use 17# (.013D) Armillo, for Deps 175, less memory, longer casting and stronger line at the same diameter.

12 lb CXX should be fine for the 175. I use 15 lb CXX for everything under 6 oz as long as its over or around 1 oz.
