I don't have a problem with taking the jonboat into thick muck.  I just raise the motor and break out the oars.   A lot of other anglers stop at the weed line.

An algae explosion made the back of coves inaccessible on a local lake . Nobody would go back there . I oared back there and caught bunches of bass  . Had them all to myself .

  • I'd say there is very little if anything, about the way I fish that just about any & every Basshead is not doing or has done at one time or another.  Perhaps one aspect of my deal that may be

That’s easy! I can’t catch a d**n fish.    The way I see it, I’m going to release the fish anyways so why catch one? Instead I just buy rods, reels, and a ton of tackle, to test the durability

  • This is simple but I have seen people I fish with ignore this principle.  In order to get bit keep your lure in the water.  Don’t be changing baits,  playing with electronics, running to new places in

What do I do that other anglers don't? Well one thing I do that my buddies don't is catch big bass aka largemouth 6lbs and up. Again shout out to @walt-14. Sorry couldn't resist.

I just thought of stuff I DON'T do that, these days, most do.  I don't use electronics.  Most of my fishing is done from a bass raider that I actually removed the fish finder from when I bought it.  Don't need it and didn't wanna mess with it.  I don't take video of myself and the only pictures I really ever take are of the landscape.  I rarely ever even have my phone in the boat.  I've been asked a few times to take some froggin videos but I don't do anything special you can't see a million different places and that would just seem like work to me.  Not to get all hippy-dippy but fishing, for me, is kinda like church.  It's my time to disconnect from the big world, get outta my head, and be in nature and the part of the world that has no use for money, careers, politics, etc.  the days I know I'm doing it best are the days that I am just reacting to what is being given me with very little thought.

The healing and restorative effects possible from a day of fishing should not be underappreciated IMHO.
