Tried Hildebrand and wasn’t too impressed…seemed really flimsy.

They are.  That's what makes them work.  ☺️

*Hildebrandt spinnerbait  blades are the very best spinnerbait blades in my opinion (I don't use their spinnerbaits - just the blades I order separately) - just the right thickness , shape / curve and finish to thump , vibrate or flash to the greatest extent - Colorado , Indiana and Willow Hildebrandt blades are all top notch .  Lastly , all spinner bait blade manufacturers offer slightly different size blades so you need to check to match up with your existing spinnerbait blades for the best match . Hildebrandt blades can run slightly larger than a lot of stock blades (approx. 1/2 size larger in my opinion) .

i love the zman slingz spinnerbait. what they advertise as a straight running spinnerbaits is true unless it is snagged on some grass. i also like the war eagles mostly for deep running over rock humps.

I am fairly sure you could put Hildebrandt blades on a coat hanger and catch fish.   I like to swap out my blades, so I order the blades separately.   There are four things I like about the Hildebrandt Okeechobee Special spinnerbait; the top blade is easy to change, the wire is thin which makes this bait vibrate more than other spinnerbaits, the body is gold plated and it catches big fish.  The last reason is good enough for me.   If everyone who fishes my lakes would use it, it wouldn't work as well.

I appreciate this discussion. Lots of different opinions. I too like the Terminator Titanium spinnerbaits. I have only 1 currently.

I've been looking at various models of spinnerbaits and trying to wade through what I like and dont like. Lots of good choices. I know I prefer a bait with eyes as I've always heard bass hit for the eyes on a baitfish. Might not be anything to it, but it gives me confidence.
