Getting ready for spring!

Featured Replies

Got me a few Planos this week. 6 regular 3600s, 1 3620, 1 waterproof 3640 and the best thing ever - a labeler!

The tall boxes are cheapo IKEA ones, but they work just fine.

It was a pain cutting out all of those dividers, but it was worth it. I'll store most tackle on the 3600s and use 2 3650s and the watertight 3640 as go-boxes for the backpack whenever I'm fishing from the bank.

I've got limited space, but do the best I can

Top row is 3607-open compartments. Plastics in original bags sorted by type

Second row is the mix of boxes I posted a couple up. Panfish box (3620) far left, misc items far right.

Drawer units are Sterilite mediums. Left unit has mono/hybrid top drawer, braid/FC second drawer, misc storage third drawer. Right unit has canoe BC reels, canoe spinning reels and shore/spare reels in the bottom drawer.

Below that is general storage - Sterilite drawer unit has camera accessories in the top drawer, misc items in the other two. Next to that (hidden by the braid/FC drawer) are 6qt Sterilite boxes. One hold duplicate lures/plastics, another holds my buffs, gloves, and boat towels.

The space left of the wood shelving unit and behind the plastic shelving unit on the left is where I have my rods standing up.

Top of the plastic shelving unit is where my tackle bags sit during the winter.

After two years of nothing but furschlugginer dinks, I have spent the winter getting ready to go big or go home. Even threw in some jigs in case I get bored (or pooped) with chuckin’ and crankin’.  I know the lakes around here have some healthy bass ... and Ima gonna find ‘em.  Stuff on the left is for my weedy nemesis; stuff on the right is for more civilized lakes.  Wish me luck.

@MN Fisher that's a great layout! I put the labels on the front because of way they go on the bags and backpack, but I can add it on the side too like yours so I can make the best out of my old bookcase. Hadn't thought of that.

Edit: or just bump that shelf up a notch... Welp, now I'm going back in there ?

I got labels on the latch-edge as well. The 3700s go in the bags that way too, and the 7th 3600 box of each set goes latch-edge up in the front pocket of either Advanced Angler II bags (1 Cabelas, 1 BPS)

I got them edge up with metal book-ends keeping them that way. Easier to take a single box out without having to move others from on top of it.

Done! Ended up lowering the shelf by a notch so I can read the labels on the latch side. And it completely freed up the bottom shelf, too. Thanks for the tip, @MN Fisher!

Also, before turning them sideways, I shook the terminal tackle boxes to make sure the smaller hooks don't jump compartments. All good!

@A-Jay  Yeah, yeah,  I had a similar collection ... but trying to climb into my 10-foot kayak after loading it was somewhat problematic.  ? (In my dreams!)

Ya, the amount of lures/baits that @A-Jayloads in the Pro-V might swamp my canoe. :scared:

Time to  spool reels. Organize gear, order new gear! Springs around the corner.
starting to warm up here in MA.  Next week in the 40s!!!!!!! Woooooo

I've got some cleanup and reorganizing to do yet...organize plastics...respool and lube reels. As far as purchases I've bought way to much tackle this winter...if it doesn't slow down I may end up single. That said im in the market for a new jerk bait rod and I've got $150 in Scheels cards just burning a hole in my pocket. I've got it narrowed down to a few options and I'm just waiting for them to start restocking for open water.
